DogRock Winery

DogRock Winery is a world-class wine producer located in the Pyrenees region in Victoria.

The winery was founded in 1998 by Andrea and Allen Hart, who bought 58 hectares of land just behind Crowlands. During their first few years, they built a house on top of the south-eastern ridge, where the vines were also planted; this spot provided them not just with spectacular views of the Pyrenees range but also the right angle to be operated on solar power. They also collect rainwater, among other sustainable practices.

Today, even though DogRock Winery started out as a humble family business, they are one of the most prominent winemakers in the area. Their main focus is on creating wines with minimal intervention while respecting the traditional European way of producing wine. What sets their wines apart is that they are balanced, elegant, and full of flavour, as compared to other wines that are high in alcohol and use overripe grapes.

Wine aficionados will enjoy drinking their Chardonnay, Riesling, Grenache, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo wines. They also have a Top Dog Wine Club, where membership entitles you to generous discounts.

The Cellar Door is open most of the week, and you’ll get to meet Andrea and Allen, who make terrific hosts. It’s highly recommended to make a booking ahead of time, especially if you are visiting during the weekend or peak season.
