Horsham Agricultural Society, Events, Facilities, Weddings, Exhibitions
Horsham Ag Society welcomes new members who receive special benefits and discount entry to our events. Opportunities to volunteer are available at the annual Horsham Agricultural Show which is held on the weekend of the AFL Grand Final (Sunday), the 150km Feast in February each year which showcases produce from within 150km of Horsham and a host of other activities for other user groups throughout the year.
Opportunities to camp under a canopy of stars in the heart of Horsham at special events and festivals is a jewel in not just the society’s crown but the city’s. Unfortunately camping at other times of the year are not permitted by the Horsham Rural City Council. However basic camping facilities are available for people travelling through, particularly with large animals, mostly horses.
The Maydale Reserve is maintained by volunteers, Work for the Dole participants and several staff out of the onsite workshop. As a social enterprise, it supports a social garden in partnership with the Centre for Participation to enable a working space for people of all abilities.
Wedding ceremonies are popular along the river and amongst our historical sheds. The Cattle Shed opened in 2017 for weddings and private gatherings.
