Horsham War Memorial

The Horsham War Memorial and Cenotaph is a tribute to the locals who have served in various conflicts.

The original cenotaph, built in 1958, was replaced with an updated memorial in 2004.

The plaques are located within Sawyers Park in Horsham and are open for public viewing. They are also listed in the Victorian War Heritage Inventory for its historical and cultural significance.

Notable features in the memorial include a flagpole, as well as panels with a list of names of individuals who served during the First and Second World War, Boer War, Women’s Services, and other conflicts that occurred in Vietnam, Borneo, East Timor, Iraq, and other countries.

The Horsham War Memorial is a sombre place to visit and give thanks to the selfless acts of countless individuals. The lawns on site are typically well-maintained, and promise a tranquil stroll through the grounds.
