Grampians Mountains

The Grampians Mountains are the most-admired tourist spots in the region. With both adventurous and family friendly activity options, the Grampians offer a perfect opportunity for visitors to get out and about in nature and have an enjoyable holiday.

The highest peak in the Grampians is Mt. William. With over a height of 1,168 metres, Mount William is known for having one of the best viewing platforms that offers breathtaking views of the entire mountain ranges and its surroundings.

The Grampians Mountains include a number of peaks and rock formations made up of sandstone. The Grampians mountains were formed over many thousands of years and now consist of some of the most beautiful natural forested areas in Victoria.

The most popular activity for visitors to the Grampians region is to take a hike to the top of some of the most well known mountains and arrive at the many peaks and lookouts. This way, hikers get the best panoramic views of the Grampians region.

For those interested in taking a nature walk, check out the Boroka Lookout and the Pinnacle, both easy walks to some of the best viewing spots in the Grampians.

If you are a little more adventurous, then book a rock climbing tour where you can scale the rock faces of the Grampians’ highest peaks. Mount Arapiles is one of the most popular rock climbing sites in Victoria as it offers 2000 different climbs on its many cliffs and pinnacles.

The Grampians National Park is the place to be in the warmer months as the park contains more than 500 species of rare and endangered Australian plants. In addition to the floral attractions, you can also find a variety of birds and animal species. There are more than 100 bird species in this region, including many native birds such as gibert whistler, southern scrub sobin and rainbow-bee eater.
