Among these, the Grampians National Park is the most iconic. Recommended as a must-visit for travellers of all ages, the majestic landscape boasts of several exciting outdoor activities for all to enjoy. Its natural terrain is ideal for rock climbing, mountain biking, and hiking, but there are also several beautiful trails that can take you to peaks, where you can see stunning views of the mountain ranges.

Little Desert National Park stretches from the Wimmera River to the South Australian border. The best way to get around this national park is using a 4-wheel drive, but make sure to plan your route accordingly because the park is divided into three parts: the central, eastern, and western blocks. Go on one of the organised tours available, or explore the trail yourself. Keep your eye out for some of the 200 bird species that call the park home.

Another must-visit destination is the Black Range State Park. Located along the outer area of the Grampians, the verdant woodlands are home to many birds and animals, making it a perfect weekend getaway for walking, bushwalking, and outdoor tours. There are several camping and picnic grounds within the park as well.

Mount Buangor State Park is recommended for camping enthusiasts. It features many beautiful landscapes, though the highlight is the stunning eucalyptus tree forest. After going on one of the walking trails available here, cool off at the majestic Ferntree Waterfalls for a truly memorable time.

The Mount Napier State Park is another famous destination in the area. Home to the iconic mountain of the same name, the park is renowned among seasoned hikers and walkers for its gorgeous terrain. Mount Napier also happens to be the youngest volcano in all of Victoria and boasts of a truly magnificent park located around the base.

No matter what kind of outdoor activities you’ll like, you’ll surely find it among the Grampians national parks and state parks.
