Coleraine Cup

The Coleraine Cup is an important local racing event in Victoria. It has been taking place since 1903, and the same racecourse is home to one of the oldest jumps races in the country, The Great Western Steeplechase.

Aside from being renowned as a major racing event, the Coleraine Cup attracts many attendees because it’s held in one of the country’s most beautiful areas.

The family-friendly event features several activities for attendees of all ages, such as community hospitality, on-course entertainment, marquee packages, fashions on the field, live music, kid’s activities and exciting country racing action.

Coleraine Cup takes place just once a year, so if you have always wondered what it’s like to attend an exciting Australian horse racing event, this event is not to be missed.

Racing enthusiasts will have the chance to interact with and meet trainers and jockeys. Several packages are available for attendees.

The Coleraine Race Club is situated amongst some of the country’s most picturesque scenery, with rolling hills and red gums. It is located in the Southern Grampians, at the heart of a thriving farming district. It is a gateway to the wine districts, stunning natural attractions, chef-hatted food, and boutique shopping.

Tickets & Packages

Support the local community and enjoy the up-close racing action you’ll only get in the country. Whether you are looking for country casual or a catered experience, there are packages to suit everybody!

Whilst you don’t necessarily have to pre-purchase a ticket, you are highly encouraged to do so! The perks of pre-purchasing your ticket guarantees entry, but it also means you can skip the queue, and in some cases – prepaid General Admission is cheaper to purchase in advance than on the day!

General Admission
General Admission is your pass to a full day of racing action in the country, where you’re sure to have a day that’s got it all. Pre-purchasing your ticket is a great way to avoid the queue on race day and walk straight into the action.

Dandy Andy Enclosure
Enjoy the day in the Dandy Andy Enclosure, a pooled marquee beside the Dandy Andy Bar. This marquee is suited to keen racegoers and guests looking for a laid-back, relaxed, quiet space focused on the racing action.

Cup Marquee
The Pooled Marquee is located in the premium trackside location. It is suited for guests looking for a superior day of racing, elegance, and fun. You will enjoy being in a pooled marquee full of entertainment, gourmet finger food, and an all-inclusive beverage package (beer, wine, champagne, and cider).

Umbrella
Located at the home straight  near the Mounting Yard, an umbrella package is ideally suited for groups of 10 per site.

Trackside Mini Marquee Package
Located down the home straight on the mound, the trackside marquees are a great place to spend your Coleraine Cup Day! This area has its own bar and great trackside viewing!

Dress Standards

If you’re attending corporate hospitality, please dress neatly and casually—no thongs or ripped denim. Men should wear a collared shirt, and ladies should dress accordingly.

We embrace a laid-back lifestyle in the country and encourage dress standards from all ends of the spectrum. Whether you’re entering Fashions on the Field, dressing up for hens or bucks, or want to come along in a shirt and shorts – they encourage ‘Country Casual’ – whatever you feel comfortable in, we’re happy to have you in!

Course Information

Race meetings are non-BYO alcohol events. However, alcoholic beverages can be purchased on the course. You may bring your own non-alcoholic beverages, but please limit these to plastics or cans; glass is not permitted.

You can bring your own food to the races. In fact, groups are encouraged to bring their own picnics, but you are asked to leave sharp knives and glass at home. The club also offers numerous catering and beverage packages, but it’s best to call the club to find out more information about available packages.

Adequate parking is available. Please follow the instructions and directions from our car park attendants on the day. Parking is free and plentiful.

A bookie ring is available for those feeling lucky, with select race meetings offering a TAB and EBTs.

The Coleraine Racecourse is located at 16 Merino-Coleraine Road in Coleraine, Victoria.
