Grampians Brushes 2025 Dates, Art Workshops, Halls Gap, Victoria

One such event aimed at art lovers is the Grampians Brushes. This art festival offers workshops and exhibitions and is an excellent platform for aspiring artists to learn new art techniques, including portraiture, watercolour, paper & eco dye, printmaking, and more.

Aspiring artists are also offered introductory classes to teach them about types of paintings and colour varieties, the knowledge that every good painter has. School kids are also welcome to join these workshops at Grampians Brushes to learn a new skill.

Those passionate about art should check out the various artworks on display and works underway. Held at a stunning venue, the Grampians Brushes boasts a stunning setting next to the Grampians National Park.

Many 2-day, 4-day and 6-day workshops will run throughout the festival. Most workshops run for a full day (9am – 4pm), and lunch is often provided on-site. Classes offered include botanical, portraiture, oil/acrylic, Sumi-e painting, acrylics, pastel, printmaking, and mixed media, to name a few.

Morning tea and lunch are provided at your workshop, with catering supplied by the local bakery and will comprise a salad roll, muffin or slice and piece of fruit daily. Please advise of your dietary requirements upon booking. If you require specific dietary needs that cannot be catered for by the bakery, please bring your own.

Join other students and tutors for evening meals, exhibitions, bushwalks and more. A full program of activities will be forwarded to enrolled participants in August. Partners, family and friends are welcome at all evening activities.

As part of the opening night, there is an artist market at the GrampianArts Market Place at the Halls Gap HUB. Senior Art Supplies will be selling specialist art supplies, Dairing selling specialty papers and textiles, Red Rock Books with art books, and Fibreworks hand-dyed fibres.

Grampians Brushes is a project of GrampianArts, a not-for-profit organisation that strives to provide opportunities for artists to extend their skills and showcase their work.

  • Hi,

When the workshops notifications/brochures become available for 2017, could you please email me a copy or arrange postage?

Also is Ross Paterson doing another oils workshop again in 2017?

    Many thanks, Jill

    • Hi Jill,

We are not the organisers of the event, so you will need to contact them on 0428 825 971 or [email protected]. They may have a list for a mail out for next years event that you can add yourself to.

As to who is running the workshops, not sure at this point, but I suspect a list will be provided around mid-next year. The 2016 workshops were only advised a few months out.

      All the best,
      Jess
