The Grampians region has a number of small townships within its area. Most of them were formed by various European settlements during the early 1900s. One such town is Cavendish, which was settled during the 1850’s. Today, Cavendish is a well-developed community with a population of around 500 people.
Located just a 30 minute drive from Hamilton, the township of Cavendish is an easily accessible area for tourists as it is a small town that can be completed with a walking tour.

what accommodation is available?
Hi Steve,
I don’t believe there is any accommodation available in town, so the closest location is Hamilton or Dunkeld.
I have attached a link for the closest hotels here.
